Care instructions for fresh cut flowers

  • Select a clean vase and fill it with lukewarm water (ranunculus and a few others do prefer room temp water).

  • Add floral preservative to the water according to the package instructions.

  • Remove any leaves or foliage that will be submerged in the water to prevent bacterial growth.

  • Using sharp and clean scissors or a floral knife, cut the flower stems at a 45-degree angle.

  • Immediately place the freshly cut stems into the vase of water.

  • Arrange the flowers in the desired design, ensuring each stem has enough space and isn't overcrowded or pinched.

  • Keep the flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources.

  • Change the water every two to three days, or whenever it becomes cloudy or discolored some flowers are considered 'dirty' like Black-Eyed Susan's and daily water change can be helpful.

  • Trim the stems every few days, cutting them at a 45-degree angle to promote water absorption.

  • Remove any wilted or dead flowers from the arrangement to maintain its appearance. You can cut some of the blooms off or take the full stems out.

  • Consider placing the arrangement in a cool room overnight to extend the lifespan of the flowers.

  • Enjoy the beauty and fragrance of your fresh cut flowers for as long as possible!
